About RTI in Karnataka
The Right to Information Act, 2005 empowers Indian citizens to request information from public authorities. In Karnataka, citizens can seek government records, administrative decisions, public expenditure details, and information about public services, subject to exemptions under the Act. Applications should be directed to the relevant State Public Information Officer (SPIO) of the Karnataka Government department or public authority holding the requested information.
